Father's Day

Father's Day is such an important day to help appreciate our fathers and stop and realize how important they are in our lives. I would have to say I have been blessed with a wonderful father that has helped make me the person that I am today. I have always told myself that I wanted to marry someone who has the same qualities as my father. I have been fortunate to do so. Tony has been a great father to Allison. It is great to see him raise Allison with great family values, protect her, guide her in the right direction each and every day. It makes my heart melt seeing how much love he shows her. Yesterday was Tony's second Fathers Day. We had a very relaxing day at Lake Shelbyville. The weather was sunny and nice. Allison enjoyed being able to run around at the park. We stopped at the new visitors center and Allison enjoyed their exhibit hall. Before we came home we spotted several deer while driving through Wolf Creek campground. Allison kept pointing and babbling words. It was so cute to see her face and reactions. We had a great day but was pretty tired when we made it home. Overall, it was an awesome Father's Day!!

Allison's 1st Birthday Party

On June 5th my little Allison turned a year old. I  am thinking mommy is still in denial that my little munchkin is a year old already.  We had such a wonderful day with our family. The weather was warm but gorgeous.  We had an elephant themed party with pink and brown polka dotted balloons and decorations. We had a nice meal, cake, and ice cream. Allison got lots of fun toys and clothes. She has been occupied all week long playing with all of her toys. In some of my spare time this week, I have found myself looking back at picture albums of Allison. Seeing her grow from only 7 lbs 11 ounces to now being 22 lbs has been amazing. It has brought lots of mixed emotions. I would have to honestly say it has been one of the best years of my life. We have created so many memories together as a family. I am looking forward to celebrating many more birthdays with our little girl. Each day I get so excited to see her grow and have to say I am so proud to be her mommy. Below I have shared some pictures of Allison's 1st birthday party.

Happy 1st Birthday Allison!!!

Amazing Journey

Well can I say we have survived our first year as parents. It has been such an amazing journey. I have always dreamed of having a little girl and last year in June my dream came true. Before Allison arrived I had so many people tell me to cherish every moment with her because it goes by so quickly. I remember thinking to myself that it can't go by that fast. Wow! I have to say I now agree with everyone that gave me that great advice. Thank you to all.
When I look back at the beginning of my pregnancy, I remember having so many mixed feelings of excitement as well as are we really ready to be parents. As the months passed by, we got more and more excited for our little bundle of joy to arrive. I can remember every minute of decorating her nursery, picking out names, her little kicks in my belly, doctors appointments, etc. The day finally came to meet our little girl. I remember being so excited but scared at the same time. Thank goodness for wonderful family and friends to give me great advice throughout my journey. I did have a long and difficult delivery but, it was so worth it. At the time I didn't think I would ever do it again but, now I would do it in a heartbeat.
Tony and I have been very fortunate that Allison hasn't been a difficult baby for our first. She never cried a lot, slept well during the nights, and wasn't fussy for the most part. Look out for the next baby. It will probably be the opposite and be a little monster.
I have taken lots of pictures of Allison during her first year. When I look back at her pictures, I still can't believe how much she has grown up. It is amazing to see her walking now and saying words. We thank god every day for blessing us with our wonderful daughter. I don't know what we would do without her. No matter how bad of a day we might have, just to see her smile at you melts your heart. We are excited to make so many more memories and be able to continue our journey as a family.

We love you Allison!
